Event description WHY IS THIS TRAINING FOR YOU?

AET is a nationally recognised programme whose aim is to share knowledge and good practice to a wider community
Are you finding it difficult to unlock the potential of children with Autism within your setting?
This one and a half hour session is designed for staff teams within a setting who need to develop their awareness and understanding of autism

WHAT WILL THIS ENTAIL AND WHAT WILL YOU LEAVE WITH?

This 90 minute session looks into ‘What is Autism’, the difficulties children with Autism encounter and how this increases their anxieties having an impact on their learning and the learning of others
Identify the four key areas of difference between pupils with Autism and their peers
Know the importance of understanding your individual pupil and their profile of strength and areas of development
Identify the key areas to help pupils on the autism spectrum to build positive relationships with peers, staff and those around them
Develop an awareness of the sensory and communication difficulties that pupils experience
Increased knowledge and understanding around Autism Shared experiences with other colleagues in a similar situation A bank of strategies that support inclusion

A certificate of attendance will be issued to all delegates

Cost: Free to Ealing Maintained schools
