Event description

We look forward to seeing you at the NQT Mentors' Conference which will take place on 3rd July 2019.

Aimed at the NQT Induction managers and mentors – new and experienced, this professional development day will provide an opportunity to explore the principles of NQT Induction and effective mentoring as well as celebrating best practice. The day will be packed with a lot of information and opportunities for schools to share good practice through presentations (case studies) and group discussions. Resources will be available on the day.

Part 1 – NQT Induction – Statutory requirements (outline)

- Why an induction for NQTs? What does it look like?
- Top 10 concerns NQTs have at the start of induction
- Focused discussion/ activity: What works well in mentoring NQTs – Challenges and opportunities 

- Mentor’s Role – What is needed to provide meaningful induction for NQTs

- Statutory Requirements – Monitoring NQTs
- AB role / working in partnership with schools / QA Processes

- Case Study 1 – Developing new teachers to grow – Being a mentor – versa being an NQT (Mount Carmel Catholic Primary School)
- Case Study 2 – Monitoring NQT induction / LA QA process (Northolt High School)

Part 2 – NQT Induction – Statutory requirements in practice
