Event description Gain the skills, awareness and techniques to provide a Trauma Informed approach to supporting vulnerable children in your class and enhancing wellbeing for all children.

This course will explore the impact that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) have on the children in your class and look at ways of providing protective factors for these children to enable them to better regulate their emotions and behaviour, improve their wellbeing and mental health and enhance their access to the curriculum.

The course will include a neurological and psychological understanding of the impact of trauma on child mental health and provide practical strategies for supporting vulnerable children. These will include important conversational tools such as empathic listening, regulatory interventions to calm bodies and brains and whole classroom strategies.
