| Event description | As well as some presentation, this online session is fully interactive including activities and group discussion. The DfE’s Governance Handbook outlines three core functions of governance. The first of these is “to ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction,” which is also referred to in Ofsted’s expectations of governance. Strategic Leadership is also one of the key features of effective governance described in the DfE’s Competency Framework. This session explores how governors can fulfil this function. It is suitable for all governors and focuses on how they can appropriately and effectively contribute to the vision, values and strategic direction of the school. It will cover:
