Event description Aims to help colleagues understanding the writing gap and to learn strategies to tackle that gap.

The course will cover:

Developing understanding of the writing gap
Strategic planning for improving writing

Alex Quigley shares the writing challenges faced by pupils at all key stages in our schools. He goes on to share practical strategies that tackle key areas of teaching writing, such as spelling, sentence variation, teaching the writing process, grammar for writing, assessing writing, and more. The session is for both teachers and school leaders in primary and secondary school, with practical ideas and a strategic planning session. 

Audience: School teachers and leaders in primary (emphasis on KS2 writing) and secondary school; literacy leads; English leads; Curriculum Deputies etc
