| Event description | The cost of this training is £145 per person venue: Vicars Green Primary School • Contact point for both days: Jeanette Callow (office manager)- Tel : 020 8997 6734 • Venue: Vicars Green Primary School, Lily Gardens, Wembley HA0 1DP • Parking: Free off street. Driving restrictions from 8:40 – 9:10 in the morning and between 3-3:45pm in the afternoon. This course is aimed at those who are responsible for the routine (daily/weekly) and operational (monthly/quarterly) inspections of school play areas. It focuses on equipment typically found within school playgrounds, rather than the sort of equipment found more generally in publicly accessible playgrounds. It is ideal for anyone responsible for managing, inspecting and maintaining school play areas. RoSPA Certificate: The local authority’s insurance company have confirmed that the RoSPA Certificate is adequate from a training perspective for those who carry out the routine (daily/weekly) and operational (monthly/quarterly) inspections of school play areas. The local authority expects in-house school inspectors to have this training as a minimum. RoSPA Certificates are valid for 3 years. RPII exam not required for staff. The course will cover: • Risk assessment • Reporting procedures • Inspection procedures • Legal aspects • Immobilisation of equipment • Timber • Steel • Plastics • Rope • Chains and Connections • Tyres • Different types of surfacing • Cleanliness • Vegetation Clothing and footwear: Due to the practical aspects of this course and possible inclement weather please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Climbing onto playground features and playground equipment may be necessary. |
