Event description | Challenging Disproportionality & Developing Cultural Competence (new staff – 3 part course) This training is aimed at school staff who are new to working in the London Borough of Ealing. The aim is that EVERY new member of staff will attend the Challenging Disproportionality training as part of their induction to school. Please note: this a three-part course and it will be delivered virtually. Tuesday 5th March 2024 - 9.30am – 12.30pm Tuesday 19th March 2024 - 9.30am – 12.30pm Tuesday 16th April 2024 - 9.30am – 12.30pm Topics covered include: · unconscious bias and micro-aggressions: how background, personal experiences, stereotypes and cultural context impact on decisions and actions without you realising · introduction to Racial Identity Theory and consideration of the legacy of Empire · strategies for developing cultural competence within organisations The training course aims to support school staff to respond to the issues relating to race equality and in particular the findings of the Ealing Race Equality Commission. https://erec.dosomethinggood.org.uk/report/ Free to ELP Schools Non-ELP Schools pay standard cost £131 |
