The council does not capture or store any personal information about individuals who access Ealing CPD online website to browse events published. When you request a user account so that you can apply for and attend the training which is available, you provide your personal details, via the online form or via email to the appropriate training channel (Schools, governors, social care and safeguarding, early years or foster care and the personal data which you provide is retained on the site for as long as it is necessary for the purpose which it was collected for.

Personal information we collect

If you register for a user account we collect your name, organisation/school, email address, phone number and job role so that we can link you to your correct organisation/school and your line manager/CPD leader will be able to authorise your account and any training you apply to attend. You can also choose to supply personal information so that we are aware of any particular help we might be able to provide you with to enable you to attend training (mobility/access needs information for example). ( If you do not wish to add this information to the system you can always contact us for any specific event to tell us what we might be able to do to assist you to access the training). All of this personal information is available at all times when you log in - in your own personal profile area ‘My CPD Online’ where you can download a copy or -amend the information yourself. If you have any difficulties with amending- this you can email the relevant contact team as listed at the end of this privacy notice. When you apply for and or attend training, a record of this is held on the site in your ‘My CPD Online’ area. You and your CPD leader/line manager can view this at any time by logging in.

There is a subject area list in your ‘My CPD Online’ area where you can tick subjects of interest to you. When you tick any of these, the system will automatically generate email alerts to you on a regular basis alerting you to new events which have been published on the site which you may be interested in attending. To disable these alerts you can untick any choices you have previously made. If you need help with any of the above you can email your relevant channel support team - details are at the end of this privacy notice. We do not tick these boxes on your behalf.

You may also receive emails with links to online forms where you are asked to provide some information eg about pre-requisites for attending a course, or your feedback about events you have attended.

What we do with personal information

We use this information only for the intended purpose that you have provided it for. Your information will be held only for as long as necessary and it will not be passed to any other parties. Our purpose for processing your personal data is in order to provide training services to you and in order to get in touch with you on matters relevant to the purpose of the site ie training and professional development.

As part of this function the council will use your information:

  • for the particular purpose(s) specified at the point data is provided by you or by another person on your behalf
  • to communicate and consult with you in order to provide services appropriate to your needs;
  • to monitor and improve performance in relation to those services
  • to assist with the planning of future service provision
  • for the maintenance and improvement of the services which we deliver, this includes the development and upgrading of the systems which we use to process your information

Confidentiality/security

We use a secure, encrypted transmission method to protect the information you send to us via the website. All our employees and data processors with access to, and associated with the processing of, personal data are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our visitors’ personal data. We ensure that your personal data will not be disclosed to government institutions and authorities except if required by law or other regulation, or as stated on individual online forms.
